About the Trek

Some treks take you to beautiful places. This one takes you to two different worlds in a single journey. The Premium Hampta Pass Trek starts from the green valleys of Kullu and crosses into the dry, rocky deserts of Lahaul and Spiti.

Over 5-6 days, you walk through pine forests, grassy meadows, rocky paths, and small streams to reach Hampta Pass at 4,270 m (14,039 ft). From the top, you can see both sides – the lush Kullu Valley behind you and the barren mountains of Lahaul ahead.

The trek then continues down to Shea Goru and Chatru, ending with a visit to the beautiful Chandratal Lake (4,300 m). This crescent-shaped blue lake, surrounded by tall peaks, is a sight you’ll never forget.

Covering around 25-30 km, the trek is perfect for people with average fitness levels. The best time for the Hampta Pass Trek is between mid-June and September, when flowers bloom and the skies are clear.

With HimTrek’s Premium Hampta Pass Trek, you get clean and spacious tents, warm sleeping bags, warm fresh meals, and trained trek leaders who ensure your safety. From Manali to Chandratal and back, everything is arranged so you can focus only on enjoying the mountains.
