Brahmatal Trek in winter is a once-in-a-lifetime adventure for trekkers and nature enthusiasts. Moreover, it offers an unforgettable journey through an icy paradise and the chance to witness the majesty of the Himalayas.

Brahmatal Trek is a mesmerizing adventure that takes you through the pristine snow-covered landscapes of the Indian Himalayas. Located in the Chamoli district, this trek is a winter wonderland, offering a unique and challenging experience for trekkers. With 3,840 meters above sea level, the Brahmatal Lake is the reason behind the trek’s name.

Trekkers and nature enthusiasts flock to this famous trek for its captivating views,  snow covered landscapes, and the opportunity to witness the mighty Himalayan peaks. The trek spans 28 kilometers, typically requiring 5 days and 6 nights to complete, and adventurers best experience it between December and March.

In winter, the Brahmatal Trek transforms into a mystical beauty, and thick layers of snow completely cover the entire region. Trekkers can anticipate seeing huge stretches of white wilderness, frozen mountain lakes, and dense forests of oak and rhododendron trees. Brahmatal Lake, a frozen lake with a glistening clarity that gives off breathtaking reflections of the surrounding peaks, is one of the trek’s highlights. 

The trek offers panoramic views of some of the most famous Himalayan peaks, including Trishul, Nanda Ghunti, and Chaukhamba, among others. Furthermore, trekkers also get to experience the local culture and traditional architecture of houses and temples as they pass through small villages and interact with the friendly inhabitants.
